The composite rear transmission case is light and durable. It allows the customer to adjust the differential height to each specific condition. It also securely holds the motor plate, differential as well as supports the rear wing mount and rear carbon fibre shock tower.
Rear driveshaft system, wheel-axles
The spring steel drive shafts are thin and light, yet durable. The spring steel wheel-axles are 5mm, light and durable, guided by the 2 different size of bearings, inner 10x14x4 mm and outer 5x13x4 mm. The driveshaft pin is fully captured to prevent any failure. These bearings are for sure to stand up the rigors of any track condition.
Rear suspension brackets and toe in
The 3mm spring steel pivot pins are held in place by the suspension bracket made from aluminum. Inside the bracket you use inserts to set toe-in and roll center. You can adjust the toe-in from 2 to 4 degrees and adjust the anti squat from 0 to 4 degrees.
Rear suspension arms
The long and durable angled rear suspension arms are very tough units to withstand the rigors of the track and the hard landings. The rear arm offers 2 options for shock position and two mounting locations for the rear anti-roll bar if needed.
Rear Chassis skid plate
The composite rear skid plate connects to the chassis plate. This connection allows you to unclip the rear end in one piece, but helps reduce the total cost of maintenance. It is also made from extremely high strength composite material.
Body shell and rear wing
The prepainted and pere-cut light and low cab-forward style body, made in top quality clear polycarbonate, has a nice flowing line, steep front windscreen for down force with indents in the section in front of the windscreen. The shark fin on the roof of the cabin offers not only style but stability. The smooth body lines enhance the cars appearance and do so in style
The polycarbonate rear wing utilizes raised cutes in the sides to improve wheel clearance.

Serpent Viper 990 EVO 1/8 GP (SER903021)
SER903021
Regular price $829.99 Sale price $772.77The Serpent Viper 990 EVO is the successor of the successful 990. It features new “flex shock mounts”, offering extra flex adjustment as well as having the possibility to fine-tune the shock positions. The EVO also features a new bumper which is lighter, offers more body support and is stiffer as well! It also improves aero due to a better fit to the bodyshell. Also part of the upgrade is a new tank as well as a new topdeck. On top of that we improved reliability.
New key features:
Shock mounts:
The most visible new feature are the new shock mounts. They offer the possibility to add more flex by removing the connecting carbon brackets.
New bumper:
Another improvement has come from the new bumper. It is an aerodynamic improvement, but as the same time it gives more support to the bodyshell. It also is a lot more resistant to bending. All of that comes with a reduced weight by almost 10g!!!
Redesigned tank and topdeck:
The EVO also features a revised fuel tank, allowing more clearance with the carburettor, and also allowing to raise the tank as desired. The new shape of the tank is accompanied by a revised topdeck
New front lower arms:
The new front arms feature a carbon downstop lever which gives a much more accurate and consistent downstop setting, a very important part of the car’s setup.
Redesigned front one-way:
A modified front one-way shaft allows a more narrow setting than in the past. A front narrow trackwidth is important to be able to achieve on most tracks nowadays
Modified front and rear arms:
Another change to the arms (front and rear) is the extra 1mm adjustment in wheelbase.
Inserts front and rear:
Of course the EVO still features the removable inserts for the upright as well as the steering blocks for super easy maintenance.
In the EVO both inserts are centric, eccentric versions for extra setup possibilities are available as options
All of the above features have been extensively tested and found to improve performance.
Rear toe link and arm:
The rear toe-link has been beefed up.
New Optionals:
Battery position:
It will be possible to put the battery underneath the fuel tank to improve the left-right weight balance.
The batteryplate is also available in brass, in case you need more weight to achieve the minimum weight.
Chassis stiffner:
The new topdeck allows for another new option which is the new stiffener bracket connecting the rear end to the topdeck
Main Features:
Chassis:
7075 T6 Aluminium 5mm chassis plate
The 5mm aluminium chassis has perfect symmetrical shape for even flex and weight distribution. The ultra-narrow chassis is very light, while it still remains strong in critical places.
The central weight bridge is mounted from underneath and allows for a quick change of the weight. The weight itself is fixed using a nylock nut. Bulletproof!
The optional front weight bridge is also mounted from the bottom to allow easy access to the weight.
There are 2 additional locations to put a small weight, just behind the servo-saver and in front of the engine.
Radiobox:
The “backbone” of it is a carbon plate and an aluminium frame. The aluminium servo mounts are eccentric and can be mounted in 2 ways to adjust them to the brand of servos. The receiver box is more spacious than the one used in our 988, still it is very compact. It provides enough space even for older type receivers plus the transponder
Antiroll bar:
The wire type front anti-roll bar is ball raced. It is easy to change and adjust due to the open front end design. The standard wire is 2.5mm and 2 optional thicknesses are available. The pivot ball link system directs the suspension movement to the bar and allows easy tweak adjustment.
Front lower arms:
The long durable front lower wishbones are the open-style arms similar to the 977. An aluminium shock mount plate is screwed onto the lower wishbone. This allows the shock attachment point to be placed further outwards improving shock motion. The front lower arms are mounted to the front brackets with nylon holders. The kit includes 2 versions: in and out. This system also enables quick and easy front drive shaft maintenance. Of course the 988 closed arms are usable as well
Front suspension brackets:
The 3 position inserts allow camber-change adjustments and are held in place by the anodized aluminium top brackets. Below the top brackets, spacers can be used to change their angle or height. Caster is adjusted with clips on the upper pivot pins. The same clips are also used on the lower pivot pins to change wheelbase.
Servo saver:
The central mounted servosaver allows easy and fast Ackermann adjustment. The servosaver features a top mounted insert which can be used in 3 positions. Another 3 Ackermann positions are available on the steering blocks.
Rear end assembly:
The rear end construction with aluminium brackets is a very open design, which allows for easy of maintenance and cleaning. Dis-assembly requires the removal of only a few screws. Replacing a belt if needed, is a simple task. The eccentric bearing holders on the rear shaft allow adjustment of belt tension. The whole rear end can be removed as one unit from the chassis by removal of only a few screws.
The narrow solid rear axle in Serpent spring steel has a lightweight 9mm wide 48T pulley. Spring steel, CVD type, drive shafts connect the rear shaft to spring steel wheel-axles with aluminium quick-change levers. A very durable and long lasting drivetrain.
Rear body mount:
The rear floating body mount which is mounted on the up-rights with 2 arms is centred by a carbon-fibre and steel guider. The mount has 4 positions on each side to choose from, depending on body shell used and traction available. The threaded holes on the end of the body mount give the option to add further body-supports.
Optionals:
Our new MBL competition belts feature a special construction of the internal Kevlar reinforcement fibers, combined with a new material of the belt itself.
The belt improves the drivetrain efficiency by 50% due te reducing the external as well the internal friction.
903854 Belt 90S3M201 MBL competition S9XX
903855 Belt 60S3M210 MBL competition S9XX
903856 Belt 60S3M432 MBL competition S9XX
Bodymount Carbon:
The new Carbon bodymount is a much lighter version then the original bodymount.
It provides excellent support for all Xtreme bodyshells. The total weight is 21gr, witch saves 14 gr to the standard bodymount.
More Optionals are to find on our website under the section Optionals here: www.serpent.com/903021

Serpent SRX8 GTE '23 1/8 4wd EP (SER600067)
SER600067
Regular price $729.99 Sale price $689.97The SRX8GTE ‘23 is our most advanced electric GTE to date. The SRX8GTE ‘23 shares many new features from our recently released and highly evolved SRX8GT ‘23 nitro version. The SRX8GTE ‘23 shares design details, components from every evolution of SRX8 whether be on-road or off-road version, along with new ones never seen before on any previous model. Since the beginning of the 1/8th GT Electric category, Serpent has stood strong with class leading technology, designs and the absolute performance on the track. Without any doubt, the latest SRX8GTE ‘23 model, is the best we have ever created for the category and feel confident you will enjoy winning races with it.
All New Bulkheads:
We know, we know, everyone has aluminum bulkheads now; you’re welcome, well kind of. We have learned so many things over the past 4 years. With that being said, it was time for us to go another direction, with nothing but sheer performance in mind. Some good things have to come to an end, in order for even greater things to begin. The all new bulkheads are made from a hybrid arrangement.
This hybrid arrangement is a win on many, many fronts:
1) We win huge in the weight department
2) There is still heat dissipation on the pinion
assembly due to the 7075-T6 pinion mount
3) Pinion assemblies height adjustment can be done
with minimal effort, less parts and in less
time.
4) All the parts needed for you to adjust the diff
height are going to be included in the kit with
no additional cost. This is both for the pinion
and differential.
5) Lower CG
In the end, it was an absolute win for everyone. We have achieved even lighter weight, than when using the magnesium options we sold before; all the while winning on the 5 above mentioned areas. Those are the main areas that improve, however you will also gain on the track with even quicker acceleration and higher potential top speed. This alone, will give the SRX8GTE ‘23 a huge advantage, you have never been able to utilize before. With no doubt in our minds, your racing is going to go to the next level.
Chassis:
On the new SRX8GTE ‘23 model we have extended the chassis an additional 2mm for improved handling. This places the wheel base at 230mm +/- 2.5mm. In addition to the improved handing, there is now more space between the batteries and the motor shaft and pinion. The shape has also been updated to accept our new front/rear pivot bracket as well as increase strength at the narrow area at the front bend.
The rear shape has also been changed to better align the droop screw at the rear for better alignment with the arm. With small improvements on the chassis, you can gain slightly better overall performance, improve wear and have an easier time adjusting your gear mesh.
Mountable Chassis Weights:
The SRX8GTE ‘23 chassis comes equipped with holes pre drilled into the chassis for optional weights. At Serpent we understand the need for being able to adjust the weight distribution of your racing machine. This SRX8GTE ‘23 will be no exception as you can add a 25-gram weight to the front and/or rear. The weights will be sold as optional’s but the chassis is ready to accept them.
All New Split Center Diff :
Since the very beginning of the SRX8-E, SRX8T-E, and then ultimately the SRX8GTE we had a well designed and universal center diff and motor mount. Now the time has come to improve on an already great design. With easier access to the center diff, no matter the configuration, less overall parts and lower maintenance times the all new center diff mount was born.
You can still use any battery layout and motor layout as you did before, but now the assembly process has been updated. The weight has also been reduced slightly on the mount and also the mountable sides.
Lighter Motor Mount and Slide:
When we updated the Split center diff design we also had to change the design of the already reliable motor mount. With the existing slide system and 1 screw holding already being a great staple, we kept that the same. However, the motor mount’s shape has been also changed to accept the new split diff and has been lightened in the process to reduce weight.
SRX8GTE Solid Center Axle Assembly V2:
The SRX8GTE ‘23 model comes fully equipped with the latest V2 solid center axle technology. Originally we had only 44t diff gear mounted to an older hub design. This really limited the customers on the gearing choice across a variety of battery voltage options and tracks of various sizes. Now you will be able to choose between not only the tooth count of the gear, but also the type of material the gear is made of.
A 44t nylon gear is included into the kit, but you also have 36t, 38t, 40t and 42t plastic gears to choose from that all fit the SRX8GTE ‘23. In addition to those plastic gears you will also be able to fit 36t, 38t, 40t, 42t and 44t Steel versions for super high traction applications like drag racing or where more durability is needed.
New Light weight Rear Bodymount:
The rear body mount on the SRX8GT was a carryover part from the original S811GT. Although it was a great way to save money on molds, we were somewhat married to that part at that time. Since the SRX8GT was such a hit as well as successful, it really has opened up the doors for more future upgrades. In regards to the body mount we wanted to reduce weight while keeping it strong, but also durable at the same time.. We went with a light weight molded lower, and a carbon fiber upper. The hybrid concept again lives strong in this body mount. We also wanted to incorporate the ability to put rearward facing posts to prevent body tucks during racing. With that being our criteria, a new lightweight more versatile rear body mount was born. As mentioned many times before, the SRX8GTE ‘23 has been born purely with innovation, performance, reliability and ease of use in mind. This new body mount checked all the boxes.
New Front/Rear Pivot:
A much needed upgrade at the front end is the all new Front/Rear Pivot block and updated inserts. On the previous GT there was no way to simply adjust the pivot without removing the entire block.
The design was changed to have 2 more inserts to further refine the Roll Center. In doing this it allows even more adjustment in finer increments. The original 0 insert is still in its original position, while you have a 1 and a 2 insert to further raise the pivot pin without the need for a spacer. If you wish to raise it even more, you can still use the 1mm RC spacer as well. Also the chassis has been changed to increase the strength under the pivot block for even more durability.
All New Adjustable Caster Blocks:
When we asked the Racing team what suspension they wanted or what we needed to do, they simply said “we think we have the best suspension”. Although they were satisfied with the suspension, we had plans of our own to put it on an entirely new level. We wanted to do something not seen on a c hub style caster block, as well as make the caster so easy to adjust you could literally do it in the warm-up of a race if you had to. With a few versions under our belt and a bit of testing we were able to achieve a really nice result.
The caster block is now fully adjustable from 0-10 degrees in 2.5 degree increments. You can change it within 2 screws per caster block and easily have it done in a matter of seconds. The left and right side caster adjusters are laser etched for easy identification. Aside from the looks, the caster block is super strong, maybe stronger now than before, so finishing races should not be a problem here. These new adjustment will make it even easier to fine to your cars steering to get the maximum result possible on the lap counter all the while spending less money to do it.
New Steering Block:
In upgrading the caster block, we also have to do an upgrade on the steering block in order to make our dream a reality. Although there is not a ton here new, the steering blocks retains the Delrin bushing to rotate on the new pivot balls designed for the adjustable caster block. These bushings are larger in diameter to give maximum support on the spindle and reduce the amount of play in the spindle assembly. The steering block will still incorporate all the original Ackerman arms, so you won’t need to buy any extra or new ones there as your old ones carry over.
You can still use your 0,1,2,3, and 4 Ackerman arms to fine tune your steering geometry to suit your needs or any track condition.
All New shock body, piston and Shaft:
Shocks are a big deal….They control pretty much everything going on in a model race car. Anytime you can improve that aspect, you can improve the handling and performance of the car, let alone the lap time. It has been a long time since we were able to improve in this area, as so many cars used the older S811GT and SRX8GT shock. On the new SRX8GTE ’23 car, we really wanted to improve this area. The plan was to reduce the friction on the shaft, increase the volume of the shock and give even more tune ability to the drivers.
For the shock on the ‘23 models, we have gone from a 4mm shock shaft to 3.5, switched from a molded piston to a fully machined Delrin piston, removed the old large o rings and replaced them with 2 new X-rings. This new shock is super smooth, has more volume and overall a substantial upgrade in performance.
Improved rear torsional flex:
Part 1
Flex is a big deal, and we were not shy about improving rear grip and cornering force here. We narrowed the rear top deck by a small margin to improve the flex at the rear of the vehicle. In doing so, overall grip and lap times have been improved.
Improved rear torsional flex:
Part 2
At the front and rear of this Asphalt slaying machine we took some pride in trying to have as symmetrical flex possible. In testing it was shown to have a positive effect on lap times as well as handling left and right into a corner. This SRX8GTE ‘23 utilizes a top deck that is mounted directly to the center bulkhead as well as the rear bulkheads. The chassis uses the twist of the top deck mounted in the center of the chassis to control the twist of the chassis while still providing super stiffness front to back. With Controllable twist, you can generate more cornering force, while still having the front to back stiffness; you can further enhance the grip out of the corners. Don’t be afraid to crack open the throttle out of the corners or push harder than ever before in the corners. This baby will take all you can give it.
Heavy Duty Driveshafts:
With the tracks continuing to evolve as well as the developments in new rubber compounds for racing, the load has never been higher on the driveshaft’s than they are now. In order to meet the ever changing and demanding grip levels, we have upgraded the driveshaft balls from 9mm to 10mm. With the additional diameter, the pin has more surface material to operate on, reducing wear on the internal slot’s surface This affect reduces a locking affect and increases smooth operation.
While the diameter of the ball has been changed, the pin for the driveshaft has also been increased from 2.5mm to 3. The end result is a longer life, smoother operating driveshaft that is more consistent in a much broader array of conditions. When your lap times depend on being consistent, be rest assured this new SRX8GTE ‘23 is doing its part to help you.
Rear Polycarbonate Differential Cover:
When it comes to racing, rules can be expected to change over time as things begin to evolve. From the conception of the original Aluminum bulkheads on the SRX8GT to now, ROAR and IFMAR are requiring manufacturers to cover the rear differential. The main reason is safety for turn marshals, although there have been some other less flattering reasons for the rules creation as well. Either way, rules are rules and we intend to follow them and set an example for everyone else to follow. The polycarbonate cover can easily be removed by 2 small screws and also painted if you wish. It will serve to honor the rule governing bodies as well as add additional protection for the differential from debris in less than ideal conditions.
Fully adjustable Suspension mounts vertically mounted Part 1:
When racing in a large variety of conditions, we understood the need to have the suspension brackets vertically adjustable so you can fine tune your GT. These suspension brackets are made from 7075-T6 aluminum alloy. Although RC shims are no longer in the kit they can be purchased separately to even further adjust the roll center.
You can adjust the front kick up, front anti-dive as well as the rear anti-squat or pro-squat, depending on what you need. Without any doubts, we had to carry this over to the new SRX8GTE ‘23 model
Complete set of Inserts for Suspension Adjustment
Part 2:
The 7075-T6 brackets also allow you to fully adjust the front kick-up from0,0.5,1,1.5 and 2 degree in increments of 0.5degree.
The rear anti-squat is no different as you can adjust that from 1,1.5,2,2.5,3 degrees, and the rear toe-in adjustment can be made, 2,2.5,2.75,3,3.25,3.5 and 4 degrees using the inserts provided in the kit. With so many inserts available to you as well as the ability to purchase the RC shims, there is absolutely no way, you will be limited in your quest to dominate your local track.
Differential and Pinion Height Adjustment:
Although it’s still hard to believe, the SRX8GTE ’23 continues to be one of a few cars with adjustable diff height without changing any other geometry as a bi-product. The SRX8GTE ‘23 not only has 4 adjustable diff positions, but it will also come with easy access differentials. The 4 adjustment positions will allow the racer to fine to his model race car from the lowest grip, all the way to the highest grip conditions. Both the front and rear bulkheads share the same.
Diff inserts, and input assembly holders, to minimize extra parts and to maximize your racing fun. The diffs both front and rear can be removed and replaced in a matter of seconds. This gives you no reason not to freshen up, fine tune or rebuild your differential.
0 Degree Steering System:
A continued tradition to the SRX8GTE ‘23 is the flat steering system. Since minimal kick-up angles are used there was no need to have the angled steering system seen on our Off-road cars. We took the successful steering system from our SRX8 and SRX8e and created a version specifically for our GT car. Not only did it allow us to continue to use our existing Ackerman plates, but it also allowed us to lower the CG of the bulkheads and further enhance this cars ability to corner with less body roll. Keeping the most consistent Ackermann curves helps to ensure you are getting exactly what you expect with no surprises, when you approach a turn, travel through and then exit. The end outcome is more efficient cornering with less tire wear.
HTD High Volume Differentials:
We manned up here, and went back to the drawing board and completely re-tooled our differential approach. The internal gears are a staggering Mod 1.25 which puts them at the largest in the market place. With a maximum engagement surface on the tooth for earth shattering oil shearing, coupled with larger volume housing, these differentials reduce any fading or loss of performance.
The internal ratio is industry 10/20. Make no excuses now boys, these babies will deliver the performance when you need it most.
Aluminum upright with carbon brackets:
The aluminum uprights open the door of infinite possibilities. Not only can we adjust the Camber link position in new areas we have never before, they also retain the original geometry you might already like. This new design gifts us the freedom to quickly change the geometry on future versions if necessary. The latest geometry has been tested vigorously and proven race result after race result, it works. More traction and better tire wear over long mains.
Adjustable Flex suspension arms:
The front and rear suspension arms, both feature arm plates that can be added, removed or swapped out for Carbon fiber.
This feature can be used for a host of reasons, which can include looks and or performance. Depending on your grip level and track surface, you can adjust the stiffness of the SRX8GTE ’23 arms. Generally stiffer arms have a more linear feel but can reduce grip.
This happens by forcing the shock to do more work. A softer arm can increase grip by reducing the shocks importance, but can also give the car a less direct feeling. All of these adjustments can have a huge impact on your lap time and results.
Oversized Front Bumper:
We supply an oversized large foam bumper in the kit. The bumper is firmly mounted between the upper and lower bumper. This solid mounting allows you to take more direct impact and ensure your car will be properly protected. The bumper can be trimmed to fit most if not all bodies currently in the market.
High Air Flow Rear Diffuser:
Also the rear diffuser is still a standard part in the SRX8GTE ‘23. Testing showed amazing results with this upgrade. More stability, ease of driving, better air flow in and out of the body and faster lap times. The performance is most noticeable on super high speed tracks through on the main straight and even on tracks with high speed switch backs.
Ball Raced Sway bars:
If you have a good thing, let’s keep it going... That is exactly what we did with the ball bearing raced sway bars. We introduced this first the 1.8thoffroad and then followed that up into GT. Both the front and rear suspension will get the same treatment.
The sway bar will be securely fastened and the left and right play can be adjusted. You can be rest assured there is not un-necessary friction and your roll bar is fully operation when driving your race car.
Captured adjustable sway bar pivotballs:
In addition to the ball raced roll bars. The arms have a captured pivot-ball for the sway bar. This design allows you to adjust the play of the ball as well as make sure you have no binding in any direction when your suspension operates. The plastic nut, keeps the ball retained into position. You can replace the plastic cap with an aluminum optional version if you like a more secure nut.
Adjustable and lockable Body posts:
The Gt also comes with fully adjustable front and rear body mounts, and platforms. The platforms are oversized to make sure the body had plenty to rest on and held in place with a sold metal pin. The posts themselves are extra-long so that they can be cut to length depending on what body you prefer.
The posts themselves have many holes in them to select the height you need and are locked into position by way of a 10mm cap head screw. This locking will prevent the body from adjusting in a collision or crash.
Fully Machined Servo Mount:
In order to fully utilize our steering system and make sure this model does exactly as you command. The steering servo is mounted to a beautifully crafted 1 piece servo mount made from 7075-t6 aluminum. That mount then is directly mounted to the chassis to create the most solid foundation a servo could ask for. If precision is something you want in your RC model, look no further, this SRX8GTE '23 is for you.
Low CG battery mounting:
When Center of Gravity (CG) and weight distribution have huge effects on how an RC car will perform, why not maximize it. In the GT class where you race on high grip asphalt and the cars ability to corner depends on how well it can utilize the tires. We simply say…” lower is better”, generally speaking the higher the grip the bigger the advantage of low CG. This SRX8GTE ‘23 has the batteries mounted directly on the chassis; it can’t get better than that. The batteries are secured in place by plastic mounts and then fixed into position with Velcro straps. Just remember, race cars are built for performance, not luxury.
New Optional Upgrades:
Optional Internal Ratio:
Every year new engines are being developed as the Engine manufactures squeeze more power or RPM out of a .21 sized nitro engine. It could also be that more short tracks are running GT than ever before. Either way, it was very important that we keep up on what is happening in the market. The GTE has an internal ratio of 13/44, and it was great for a majority of conditions, however, times have changed and a larger range is needed. On the SRX8GT ‘23 model we made an optional ratio 12/44, creating a class specific ratio which will also fit this GTE version. Although it seems like a minor change, the on track performance can be quite huge. The outcome would be more acceleration with reduced load on the engine. This will allow you to utilize different ratio splits, or even different fuel mixtures that can result in longer run times. In the end, it’s another win for the proud owner of this all new SRX8GTE ‘23. Disclaimer: Gears pictured are straight cut gears, gears included in the kit will be Zerol Cut Spiral gears.
Lightweight Outdrives and Centering Cross Pin:
When lap times matter most as any level racer would agree, consistency lap after lap would be of top priority. Being the first company to introduce this system into 1/8th onroad GT we are confident they will not only improve lap time, but life of your differentials. Creating more of a solid axle effect, while still allowing differential action, these all new lightweight outdrives and 1 piece crosspin are a huge improvement in performance. Reducing binding on the internal gears and outdrives, the diff runs smoother longer without any premature damage. These are an absolute game changer for GT enthousiasts.
Optional Turnbuckle Top Decks:
Performance driven by demand and innovation is of top priority here. As drivers competed with the SRX8GTE in previous years, they were looking for ways to adjust the flex at the front and or rear of the past GT models. After careful consideration and a nice way to execute the all new Turnbuckle top decks were born. With minimal new parts and ease of assembly, you can quickly change the flex of the front and rear in a matter of minutes. With this all new option you can take your SRX8GTE ‘23 to all new heights no matter what traction condition you are racing in.
Optional Carbon Fiber Battery Holders:
When it comes to cool, these all new Carbon Fiber battery holders really take the cake. Customers and racers wanted something more flashy but also functional. With the velcro system, you put a lot of pressure on the chassis and makes getting neutral flex more difficult to achieve. With the swinging carbon holders, you can secrure the battery but allow it to have some float. This float allows the chassis to have more controlled flex so you can extract more performance. Not only do they look smashing, they can improve the performance.
Optional Aero Front Bumper:
The faster you go the more down force and aerodynamics matter. At Serpent we understand that as well as anybody. In order to achieve the down force and flow of air we wanted, we constructed an entirely new High airflow front bumper. This bumper does a fantastic job of channeling the air under that chassis.
Not only does it improve air flow, but increases downforce. We were able to achieve higher top speed as well as corner speed with our all new aero bumper.
Conclusion:
GT and GTE racing has now become one of the largest growing classes in RC racing. Serpent as a company is proud to have been part of its growth over the last, 5 plus years. With the demand performance in the category, and as the class continues to grow, we are excited to continue to push the envelope in the design and innovation in the market. For decades we have understood the need to produce race winning cars, concepts, ease of assembly, durability and so much more. With so many new innovations on the SRX8GTE ‘23 , we are proud of what has been created and are confident it will elevate your racing game. Regardless of your skill or how often your race, If sheer performance is what you demand and expect, the all new SRX8GTE ‘23 is everything you have ever asked for.
We are sincerely grateful you have chosen the explore this great machine and look forward to seeing you at the races.

SRX8-Pro
When it comes to development of a product, there are no short cuts. With the intention of raising the bar, hard work and dedication is the only path to success. The SRX8 and SRX8 Evo were great cars, but here at Serpent we wanted more from this product, as bad as our customers and team drivers want to win. We raced; we tested; and repeated this process over and over until we were confident we created a better handling car that could reduce your lap times. Why you ask, because we want you to perform your best, with the least amount of effort. That’s what a great product is all about.
Return of Captured Center Driveline
Sometimes in product development you do it right the first time. In this case, we did, but we learned from our mistakes. After switching to the dogbone style setup on the Evo, we heard your feedback and we reacted. So…Its back, the captured center driveline with greased joints and rubber boots. Why’s it better, well its simple, it lasts longer, has less friction and has proven to be more reliable. Aside from that it gives the car a more consistent distribution of power front to rear.
Large Volume Differentials and oversized gears
These new differentials were a topic of concern for racers of the SRX-8. The reliability and performance of the original differentials were actually pretty good. The market though has other plans for what a high quality race car must have. One of those must haves are high volume large internal gear diffs. We manned up here, and went back to the drawing board and completely re-tooled our differential approach. The internal gears are a staggering Mod 1.25 which puts them at the largest in the market place.
With a maximum engagement surface on the tooth for earth shattering oil shearing, coupled with a larger volume housing, these differentials reduce any fading or loss of performance.
The internal ratio is industry 10/20. Make no excuses now boys, these babies will deliver the performance when you need it most.
Plus 15mm Super Tough Wing Mount
With the tracks reaching higher traction levels and higher speeds, the demands of more grip and stability are in hot commodity. Aerodynamics is nothing short of a way to enhance your models performance. We took our super tough and durable original wing mount design and made it taller. With an additional 15mm of height, this mount puts your wing up into “fresh “air providing even more down force as well as Lateral stability.
With the additional aerodynamic gains your wing is now capable of producing you can pull the throttle harder and approach turns with even more confidence. Don’t be afraid to push it with this bad boy mounted on your new SRX-8 Pro…….
New Ball Bearing Raced Steering Rack, Steering System
We have tested dozens of designs; this new steering system simply makes the car easier to drive or at least the feeling of it. The Ackerman plates all remain the same as before, as we felt that was really a strong point of the previous cars. The original SRX-8 steering was reliable, and so is this one. The feeling between the two is a bit different. The old system feels quicker and maybe overly responsive for some. This new system improves the feel, as it seems far more progressive so you can drive more confidently around center.
The old steering system will continue to be available, if high response is something you preferred. The goal is to produce a network of options, so that you as a customer can continue to develop your setup and stay at the top of your game.
New Inclined Caster Blocks and Steering Spindles
Drivability, drivability, drivability, that’s what you will find here folks. These new Inclined Caster blocks which will come in 15, 17.5 and 19 degrees, they will mate a New Inclined steering spindles. Creating these two parts together, ensures you lose none of the original Suspension Geometry as well as retains the exact track width, scrub offset and Driveshaft length. Yes, we have seen it done by other makers, but trying to slap some misfit parts together is not our intention at Serpent. It’s a do it right or not at all scenario. The parts have to be made to fit one another or your car is jacked... LOL.
Seriously though, all puns aside, these new parts really smooth out the steering. They actually reduce chassis roll into the corners, which makes the car have a more stable and smooth feeling. They also decrease responsiveness around center making the car more neutral feeling. In most cases with inclined spindles, you can run less overall caster, which improves tire wear. You will find that these are the most beneficial in super high grip applications or tracks.
Mountable Chassis Weights
Adjusting your weight distribution is becoming quite popular these days. Well we are a little late to the party, but its better late than never. In any event, we have tested adding weight to the front and rear of the car, and surprisingly the affects are actually an advantage in many conditions.
Whether you are looking for more front or rear end grip, now you will have the ability to add a 10, 20, or 30 gram weight to the front or rear end of your car.

Regular price $613.28The driving force in a race cars success is determined by those willing to back it. Serpent has worked tirelessly to improve, innovate and produce the best Remote Control cars this planet has seen. We strive to produce the highest quality parts, using nothing short of the best materials money can buy. The SRX8-E has been an extremely successful platform for the brand, but now it’s time to take it to the next level. The new SRX8-E Pro kit will be nothing short of a dirt slinging, fast lap time producing machine. With the new combination of parts, it’s easier than ever to drive, while still producing wicked fast lap times. Without further a due, let’s talk all things SRX8-E
The main chassis has served us well, the 4mm 7075-T6 aluminum chassis continues to provide a solid foundation for one of the best E buggies ever produced. Being that the chassis is flat, and gives us the ability to run a block or saddle layout, the chassis is at no shortage of strength and performance. Having weight of this chassis the lowest possible, it really helps to prevent traction rolls, as well as helps give better control while in flight. Aiding in lowering the CG, it also helps the polar moment and helps the car track straight even in the roughest terrain.
The SRX8-E motor mount continues as a carry over. This motor mount could be the best we have designed, as well as the most versatile. Being not only solid, it is flip able which allows users to rotate, and reposition it regardless of a saddle or block layout.
The main motor mount, Diff insert, motor slide, and universal mount are all made from 7075-T6 aluminum, lightweight and built to last. You can mount the motor to the slide using m4 metric socket head screws, for supreme fixing power.
These new differentials were a topic of concern for racers of the SRX-8. The reliability and performance of the original differentials were actually pretty good. The market though has other plans for what a high quality race car must have.

When delivering 4S Lipo power to the wheels, the SRX8-E driveline has proven to be extremely durable. As a carryover from every model of SRX8-E we have ever made, the 7075-T6 center driveshaft has served us well.
The driveshaft is not only light weight but is extremely strong. Couple the front aluminum shaft with the spring steel short rear shaft, and you will never be let down. Delivering the power from most any KV motor on the market, this driveline will propel your model to the finish line every single time without question. With years of experience under our belt in E buggy racing, our proven drive train is without question, class leading in durability.

The front and rear suspension arms, both feature arm plates that can be added, removed or swapped out for Carbon fiber. This feature can be used for a host of reasons, which can include looks and or performance.
Depending on your grip level and track surface, you can adjust the stiffness of the SRX8-E Pro's arms. Generally stiffer arms have a more linear feel but can reduce grip.
This happens by forcing the shock to do more work. A softer arm can increase grip by reducing the shocks importance, but can also give the car a less direct feeling. All of these adjustments can have a huge impact on your lap time and results.
The Front steering spindle, made from 7075-T6 is black anodized with silver machined edges. This part is a carryover part from the SRX8. It also includes a rubber CVD boot to keep the driveshaft greased, to minimize wear.
The steering spindle also accepts 5 different Ackermann plates. 0,1,2,3,4. Generally 0 is the easiest steering while 4 is more aggressive. You can fine tune your SRX8 steering to fit your driving needs. All plates can be easily identified by the notch marks in the side of the plate.
On our first S811 we introduced the world of off-road to Ball bearing raced sway bars. Now becoming more fashionable by other brands, we love to innovate and advance the hobby. Both the front and rear suspension of all SRX8 and SRX8-E vehicles have been given this advancement in design.
The sway bar will be securely fastened with collars and the left and right play can be adjusted. You can be rest assured there is no un-necessary friction and your roll bar is operating properly when driving your race car.
Building a reliable and long lasting race car starts at some of the most fundamental levels. The outer driveshaft’s joints are exposed to some of the harshest conditions, you can imagine. With those being dirt, heat, rocks, and friction, the only way to keep them well lubricated and maintenance free is a securely fastened boot, where you can safely place grease.
The SRX8 has a simple to assemble and high tech rubber boot to complete the task, with ease. The life of the driveshaft is increased over 50% by being sealed, and keeps your models performance consistent no matter the conditions all the while reducing the need for replacement parts.
16mm threaded shocks with x ring seals. These shocks have been refined and perfected. The shock action is almost friction free, seal pack is 2nd to no other and the seals are like that everlasting candy people dream of.
They have extremely tough 3.5mm shock shafts and the piston is fixed by a nut for maximum reliability. The threaded bodies and collars make it super easy to get the ride height regardless of spring rate.
The shock can be set up in a variety of ways depending on your configuration. The kit includes our “Pro “cap which gives you maximum versatility and value so you can use them as emulsion or bladder shocks all in one cap. The cap and shock bodies are both Hard anodized to extend the life of the shock as well as improve the shock action.
We understand the importance of how fast people want to be able to clean/maintenance and re-assemble their cars. To minimize parts as well as reduce the screw count, this electronics/servo mounts not only saves you time working on your car, but also reduces maintenance times.
This mount is also extremely durable as well as securely mounts the servo, with minimal flex.
The speedo mount also doubles as the front brace, again, reducing the parts count and the need to carry more spares than necessary.
The receiver box can be mounted in multiple locations depending on the layout you wish to use. The receiver box can be mounted directly to the speedo mount for a saddle layout, or to the chassis when using the block layout.
When it comes to the Lipo Battery, you have many options, 2s, 4s. The SRX8-E Pro kit, comes standard with the Block Layout. This layout has been selected by our team drivers to be the best performing, so it was opted for in the kit. The lower plastic mount is securely fixed to the chassis and mounted directly to the surface to ensure lowest possible CG. This design has a large variety of advantages, but for sure one of them, is the ability to run just about any battery you can find. Whether you want to double up a couple of 2s lipos as a 4s battery, or run any size of 4s battery, this car will have you completely covered. The Velcro is the lightest weight, while being some of the strongest ways to fix the battery. The Velcro is supplied in the kit and the Serpent logo is embossed on them.
With Every “Evo” and “Pro” level kit, all Serpent SRX8 and SRX8-E models have been given upgrades in durability at the shock tower locations. With a more reliable mind set and the fact we want each and every racer to finish ever race they start, aluminum shock towers are up to that task. We use the highest grade 7075-T6 aluminum money can buy, to ensure they are a no compromise when it comes to strength and reliability. The towers are a staggering 5mm thick and then anodized to give them an even more durable finish.
When it comes to racing in the mud and/or wet conditions, keeping the mud from building up on the rear arms can be a problem. Included in the kit is a pair of light weight polycarbonate mud guards. With the intent of keeping the mud and dirt from caking up on your car, which can weigh it down and reduce performance, these babies will answer that call. You can keep them clear, or paint them to match your stylish paint scheme. If they are not for you, of course you can run your car without them too, it’s up to you to decide when and how you will use them.
As a recent upgrade in all of Serpent’s Racing kits, the SRX8-E Pro kit is loaded with NSK Ball Bearings. The Japanese bearings are super high quality and prolong the life of your model race car. Lower friction, increased efficiency, reduced time between replacements, these NSK bearings are no joke, and we hope you enjoy the added value in your kit. You can find the NSK bearings, at the wheels hubs, steering spindles, throughout the drive train and steering.

The main motor mount, Diff insert, motor slide, and universal mount are all made from 7075-T6 aluminum, lightweight and built to last. You can mount the motor to the slide using m4 metric socket head screws, for supreme fixing power.
On our previous S811-T we used an internal ratio of 10/43, and then had to use a clutch bell with 13 teeth and a spur gear that was 50 teeth. In an effort to maximize carry over parts from the entire SRX line of cars, we completely re-configured the internal ratio. We determined a new pinion and diff gear were needed. We chose a 10t pinion with a 46t ring gear. By using this ratio, it allowed us to carry over all clutch bells and spur gear options, while having the perfect final drive ratio. The end result was a faster accelerating truck, while reducing rotating mass. All of these choices then lead to less strain on the clutch and even more acceleration than expected. In addition to a better performing clutch, it also decreased engine temperatures, ultimately resulting in longer run times.
When delivering 4S Lipo power to the wheels, the SRX8-E driveline has proven to be extremely durable. As a carryover from every model of SRX8-E we have ever made, the 7075-T6 center front driveshaft has served us well. The driveshaft is not only light weight but is extremely strong. Couple the front aluminum shaft with the spring steel rear shaft, and you will never be let down. Delivering the power from most any KV motor on the market, this driveline will propel your model to the finish line every single time without question. With years of experience under our belt in Electric 1/8 racing, our proven drive-train is without question, class leading in durability.
With a maximum engagement surface on the tooth for earth shattering oil shearing, coupled with larger volume housing, these differentials reduce any fading or loss of performance. The internal ratio is industry 10/20. Make no excuses now boys, these babies will deliver the performance when you need it most.
All new super durable suspension arms. They are longer, stronger and more adjustable than the S811-T ever dreamed.
The front and rear suspension arms have been beefed up to the max. Why…because we love to finish every race we start. The front and rear suspension arms, both feature arm plates that can be added, removed or swapped out for Carbon fiber.
This feature can be used for a host of reasons, which can include looks and or performance. Depending on your grip level and track surface, you can adjust the stiffness of the SRX8-T’s arms.
Generally stiffer arms have a more linear feel but can reduce grip. This happens by forcing the shock to do more work.
A softer arm can increase grip by reducing the shocks importance, but can also give the car a less direct feeling. All of these adjustments can have a huge impact on your lap time and results.
On our first S811 we introduced the world of off-road to Ball bearing raced sway bars. Now becoming more fashionable by other brands, we love to innovate and advance the hobby. Both the front and rear suspension of the SRX8-T will have been given this advancement in design. The sway bar will be securely fastened with collars and the left and right play can be adjusted. You can be rest assured there is no un-necessary friction and your roll bar is operating properly when driving your race car.
When we increased the length of the front and rear arms, and based off testing of the S811t, we simply needed more support. The solution was to re-position the sway bars leverage on the suspension arm. The net result is the ability to run much softer wire diameters, and still achieve the same roll stiffness. The net result is a more linear lean in the suspension, which translated into more grip, and faster corner speed.
The sway bars can be purchased in a variety diameters ranging from 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5 and 2.6mm for the front and rear.
With longer life as well as Load distribution, we increased the outer driveshaft ball diameter from 9mm to 10mm. We also increased the inner diameter of the axle, and also increased the length of the coupler. This additional 1mm increased the life of the pin as well as the binding when under heavy load.
Although these things seem small in nature, they pay huge dividends in the life and performance of your SRX8-T. The roll and lean of the suspension became more consistent, joint temperatures were lower, which enhanced our ability to ask for more from the setup of the truck.
Lower maintenance costs, as well as better performing CVA’s, are just some small details you can expect to find on the all new SRX8-T
The SRX8-E Pro kit, comes with the Block Layout. This layout has been selected by our team drivers during testing to be the best performing, so it was opted for in the kit.
No matter what model of SRX8 or SRX8-T you have purchased, all models have been given upgrades in durability at the shock tower locations. With reliability as a top goal in mind and the fact we want each and every racer to finish ever race they start, aluminum shock towers are up to that task. We use the highest grade 7075-T6 aluminum money can buy, to ensure they are a no compromise when it comes to strength and reliability. The towers are a staggering 5mm thick, stylishly machined and then anodized to give them an even more durable finish. Carbon fibre shock towers are also available as optional if that suites your fancy.
When racing the truggy class, steering is of the utmost importance. Without it, you will be pushing your brains out all over the race track. In our extensive testing, it was determined; that the 0 degree steering spindle coupled with a 15 degree caster block was absolutely perfect. With enough steering on tap to rip any corner, while balancing that with the correct amount of rear grip, the SRX8-T is a corner shredding machine.
The steering blocks and caster blocks are made from super high strength 7075-T6 aluminum alloy. The parts were anodized black, and re-machined to have a stylish shiny silver edge. The looks match performance here ladies and gentlemen. Additional Caster blocks are available in 13, 17, 19 degrees, if the need for more or less steering is demanded.
In order to increase the life of the Steering spindle and Rear upright bearings, we lengthened the axles, and spread the distance between bearing faces out.
This enhancement not only improves bearing life, it also reduces play, and gives you more stable camber settings on a vehicle with massive tires like a truggy. Expect more consistent cornering, and improved tire wear.
The Front steering spindle, made from 7075-T6 is black anodized with silver machined edges, beyond sexy.
The steering spindle also accepts 5 different Ackermann plates. 0,1,2,3,4. Generally 0 is the easiest steering while 4 is more aggressive. You can fine tune your SRX8-T’s steering to fit your driving needs. All plates can be easily identified by the notch marks in the side of the plate.
Don’t be afraid to push it with this bad boy mounted on your new SRX8-T…….
As a recent upgrade in all of Serpent’s Racing kits, the SRX8-T kit is loaded with NSK Ball Bearings.
The body business is as subjective as you can only imagine. With so many people having a difference of opinion on what is cool, we really hit this area hard with a good focus group. We pooled together dozen of individuals, to decide what direction we should go. In the past we have some great looking bodies, and well some that were less than great. It was time to get this right for the SRX8-T and also fit the SRX8-T Electric. We took all the great styling we could find in a larger variety of bodies, and then placed some of our own stylish concepts from all bodies we have previously made. The end product was a body that looked rough, tough and stylish, fit for a real Truggy. We hope you love the appearance as much as we do, and find confidence in the way your truck looks like on the race track.

During testing the truck was nothing short of exceptional, jumping was improved, traction improved, balance improved, durability improved, this is simply the best truggy we have ever produced. Without Further a due, let’s get started with all the new features of the SRX8-T
When embarking on the mission to create an all new Truggy for this popular class, we pressed hard, to create a masterpiece product. With the feedback from our team drivers racing the S811T we had some real big shoes to fill, we often heard, better this, better that, better here and better there. With this mindset, we were aware average execution was not going to be good enough. Spending countless hours on the styling, fit and finish of the components as well performance aspect, we wanted to raise the bar of what is expected from a high quality racing truck. Thankfully, the fundamentals of the SRX8 were a fantastic foundation to begin with; it really helped us to cut down on lost development time as well as excess spending. With the demands of a Truck, being more so than a buggy, we had to innovate in areas not seen on any of our previous SRX8 line of vehicles. As a brand we take pride in moving forward, no matter how big or small those steps are… Just keep moving forward. When it’s all said and done, we are very proud to introduce you, the long awaited SRX8-T. The SRX8-T is super durable and savage in nature on the race track. The more you feed it in skill, the faster lap times it will give as a reward. It is truly a fantastic truck, and we wish you the absolute best results on the race track.
Sincerely,
Billy Easton
Serpent Designer
The SRX8-T has an all new Chassis and side pods. In the spirit of creating the best truggy we could, we wanted an all new shape for optimal flex, clearance and sides that reduce dirt and debris inside the body. Sometimes, you simply need new when old carry over parts can’t cut it. The chassis is 7075-T6 Aircraft grade aluminum, the chassis is 3mm thick and has bent edges to increase strength in the center of the chassis to prevent bending. The chassis has a tapered angle shape and increased width to improve stability as well as drivability.
Carrying over greatness is the mantra. The SRX8-T has the tried and true Fixed Engine/Gear Mesh found exclusively on the SRX line of vehicles. The solid mounting of the engine and diff, is absolutely fool proof, you can still adjust the gear ratio without the need to fiddle around with engines position. With the choice of 13 and 14 tooth clutch bells, as well as 46, 47, and 48 tooth spur gears gives you the maximum adjustability for every condition.
Tried and True, for almost 10 years now, the Serpent Brand has been using the same 4 shoe clutch. Call it what you want, but it has been extremely reliable and tune-able. With many choices from Yellow and black carbon shoes, as well as 7075-T6 and 6061 aluminum clutch shoes, the tune-ability is endless. Couple the material of shoes, with a variety of spring choices and there is the perfect clutch setting for every engine. Whether you race on a local, regional, national or international level, this clutch will get you into the winners circle

When you designing a new truck, fit for a king, no stone could be left unturned. It was decided the tank had to also be updated. With the engines producing more power, we opted to take the already reliable and proven SRX8 tank, and increase the capacity. After testing, the tank was able to sustain high PSI ratings, before leaking out. This is a huge thing while on the track, whether you are in a massive crash or need secure and stable pressures, to ensure your engines tune. Aside from the advancements in the tanks pressurization, we also designed an all new truggy tank Pull, with nicely shaped finger loop.
The tank also incorporates the floating clunk to make sure you do not run out of fuel in the event you are trapped on your lid for extended amounts of time, while the turn marshal is on a union break. To top off the tank, it also has a nicely sized slug you can use to decrease the capacity or adjust it, to fit the requirements of any racing organizations rules.

Whether you are buying a Serpent product for the first time, or this SRX8-T is addition to your arsenal. We had to carry over this sleek, stylish radio box from the SRX8 line of cars. Not only is this streamlined looking radio boxes one of the best in the business, it makes installation a breeze. The main body of the radio box, is a single piece of high quality nylon, with two covers, that can accept personalized vinyl decals. The orientation of the throttle servo makes Brake bias adjustments on the fly, which was a real short coming in the previous S811-T. Whether you want to use a switch, or not as well as an older AMB or newer AMB transponder, this box, covers all the bases.
